Me and my career
Hello again everyone :) this week's blog is about my story choosing a career and a little about the exciting and cruel world of the career of Chemistry and Pharmacy (C&F).
Let's start for the beginning, In 2018 i was in Fourth senior, my last year in high school, and every single day i started wondering about what was going to be of my life the next year, what would happen when the school was over... I was a 17 years old girl full of illusions but also fears.
I was in the Chemistry elective and it was great, my teacher was (and is) amazing, she made develop a big love for chemistry and helped me a little bit by showing me the world of science. I was in love with Chemistry.. but i didn't want to study the career of Chemistry (not that i think it is a bad career, please don't feel offended if you study it, that's not my intention, it just wasn't for me), i wanted something different but at that moment i had no idea what it was.
Whatever, at that time i also liked maths, physics and biology (this last one not sooo much actually). The first time i thought seriously about a career it was chemical engineering but when i saw the curriculum i realized the career didn't actually have chemist (???? don't know why but it is what it is), so i was with no ideas again.
In december of that year i went to a two days seminar in the PUC about women in the world of maths, it was a great experience and it was in that place where i heard for first time about a career called statistics (of course i knew before that time what statistics was but i didn't know that it was a career), it sounded great, i loved all what they said about it, i still believe that it is an amazing career but things turned out in a different way for me.
When i gave the PSU i did it pretty good, i got good results so it wasn't a limiting for choosing a career :) the only problem was i only had two "options" in my mind, Statistics and C&F, why the last one? because it was literally the only career with chemistry that i didn't discard. i knew i was going to be accepted in the career that i decide to put as first option, i remember i changed the order 4 times before sending the application... I choose C&F just because i was good in chemistry, statistics where in my second option... but here are we today.
Now let's talk about my experience in the Chemistry and Pharmacy career... IT IS AWESOME, i have to say that, even when i was kind of blind at the moment i choose this career (i wasn't really sure what was it about hahaha), i fell in love with it being on here, this is both a hard and beautiful career, you have to study a lot of chemistry, many kinds of it, the human body, the way that chemist compounds can interact with the body, many lab techniques and instruments... all of that and more in order to be able to be an expert of medicaments. This career has make me so happy and so sad, sometimes you laugh and sometimes you cry, but i'm pretty sure this is what i'm meant to be so i just keep on it.
This is it for this week, to end this blog i just want to say something to you: i hope you feel good in your career, you can do it :)
I also love chemistry.
